I’ll get right to the point. Here’s my review:

This is the kind of book that swoops in and restores my faith in the arts. In a dull, dull world where everyone is just putting their own spin on things that already exist and trying to make a buck, Waters comes in and gives us a whole new world to get lost into.

Beneath the Fallen City has complex characters who will prompt all kinds of emotions; some you’ll love, others you’ll love to hate. Others, you might even go back and forth on as more details emerge or they show their true colors.

I had resorted to re-reading old favorites like Harry Potter and The Hunger Games when I really need an escape, another world to get lost in. With this series, I won’t be needing to revisit past reads for a while.  The reader gets a world that, while foreign, has plenty we can still relate to and dive right into. Nothing needs further explanation; it’s all made to make perfect sense and be comprehensible, without any long-winded or far-fetched explanations.

There’s action and fighting and various types of drama from romantic to vengeful to plain old greed and there’s adventure; all of it has a bit of a paranormal aspect, but nothing inconceivable. There’s some good versus bad or right versus wrong, but not in the same old, done-to-death way we always see. The reader is also treated to a love triangle of sorts, but not the usual, been-done-to-death type. I don’t want to give too much away, so I’ll just say it’s well done, really fun and I definitely have my steady favorite to root for.

Every time I stepped away from this book, all I wanted to do was get back to it. Not much holds my attention these days, let along sucks me in this extremely anymore. It’s so refreshing.

Also, if you want a good, strong female lead or role model, Kayla is a total badass. Read it, buy it for your daughters, nieces, etc. as that front is also covered. Carl is a good male role model, while we’re on the topic: a guy with good intentions and a pure heart. I feel like there is something for everyone to relate to in this complex, action-packed, adventure-filled read.

5 stars. I wouldn’t change a thing.

I hadn’t heard of whiffer sniffers before this campaign; but now I’m hooked. I’ve already been online, digging for retired ones to overpay for as holiday gifts and wishlisted a few for myself. They just smell SO GOOD.

Not sure what I’m talking about? Check out their website:

Or a pic of my favorite (of course my fave is retired!).

They’re adorable and have fun names. The pickle above is Dilly Yo. He came in a clip on, as well as a “super sniffer” – bigger, scented plushie. These make amazing gifts and they made for a super fun party.

I had an end-of-summer celebration with some games and thanks to Tryazon and Whiffer Sniffers, I had loads of stickers, collector’s guides and clip-ons to give out as both door prizes and game prizes. They sent me 8 re-useable totes all put together with merch, as well as a box of extra sheets of stickers and clip-ons. I had four other families over, each with littles. You’ll only see their hands in the pic, as I wasn’t about to slap them with forced pics for sharing online as a requirement for the gifts I had for them.

The kids and adults both ended up loving the whiffer sniffers. I wasn’t sure if the kids would even like them; I definitely didn’t expect to love them myself or to see some of the parents fighting over them. They just smell so good! I wrestled a blueberry guy from my neighbor and hid it. I know, I’m a jerk, but that smell! I had to have it!

Here are a few of the ones that went home with some of my guests.

Three of my guests came away with that Banana – and wow! He smells like banana-scented candy. Delicious. The cotton candy one, I couldn’t keep my nose off and that strawberry shake looking dude came in a GOLD FOIL package, which means he’s rare. What a find!  They all smell so real and potent. I kinda just wanna surround myself with them. The smells!

I love the bags too, I’m not gonna lie: I totally kept a few for myself, as they’re pretty and I’m enjoying taking them shopping. I may have kept a sheet or two of stickers too; they smell JUST AS GOOD as the clip-ons. It’s unreal.

If you’re going to purchase any of these, I’ve got a coupon code for you, for a limited time. Whiffer Sniffers has generously provided a 20% off coupon code that can be used on or Amazon.comTRYWSS45

Let me know if you try them out, and what your favorite is!!

Pelican Freak’s 5-star review:

Seems professional, only a few errors noticed.

Absolutely gorgeous! If only every book were this pretty.

Character development:

So much fun! I like Vanessa and her house- yes her house- is its own character, I think- immediately. All of the book b!tches are great, I related to them all.  The town itself is another character and I quickly fell in love with the small-town vibe. There are characters to loathe, characters to root for, and characters whose books I think I’ve already predicted – overall brilliant design all around, with impressive attention to detail.

Wow. This book sucked me in fast and I immediately realized that putting it down resulted in serious separation anxiety. I missed it every second that I wasn’t in it. It was like a drug – I was trying to read it while walking around my neighborhood on errands, and while simultaneously talking to customers at work, for example. Hazardous!

This book has lots going on: there’s romance with heat. There’s new friendships with some really fun women -though I may be partial to the Book Bitches. There’s a bit of paranormal activity with some friendly ghosts that completely add to the charm of the town and every building in it. There’s history, and it’s completely real-feeling and fun and addictive – Conley should publish more Historicals, I’d read those all day. There’s also some modern-day mystery, which I’ll let you see for yourself… Definitely highly recommend this book.

I tend to predict everything, and I usually will not rate a book 5 stars unless it can manage to surprise me somewhere. However, this is a 5-star read, surprises or not. That said, there were a few little surprises /a few things that didn’t go exactly to my predictions.

I’ll be very impatiently waiting on the rest of this series and I strongly recommend giving this book a read. If you’ve never read Conley- do it. Start with this or Saving Charlie or Craze (which is free at the time of this posting).

The product:

Historically, I’ve used the single cable clips – the double are an excellent upgrade. I use them as the product picture demonstrates – with both of my computers and they cut down a ton of cable nonsense.  This way – with the double clips, I can more easily keep track of both ends.

I also use these for earbuds. I keep a set near everywhere I sit and one near bed. The double cable clip makes for less of a choking hazard when I fall asleep with my earbuds in, as I can tuck in the excess and keep it more together, so I’ve had less of a problem with wrapping it around myself!

They’re soft and the wires pop right in and out. The backs are sticky so they can be planted anywhere – OR used loosely of course, like I do for the one in bed.
It’s just one of those things that takes some of the aggravation out of life. I’d definitely recommend these if you’re in need of cable clips, as they’re sturdy and arthritis friendly and working well for me.

5 out of 5 stars.

I was provided with several of the most adorable pairs of kids’ socks, in exchange for my honest review.

They are super soft and comfortable and I wish they’d fit me.
The colors are really bold – even post wash & dry, so that’s really fun too.
The little ones seem to be drawn to the designs – personally I’m not a fan of bugs, but even the bugs on these socks have been “cute-ified” and seem to be popular in my family.

They’re all great: cars, dinosaurs, trucks, stripes, froggies, bugs, etc.

I only wish there were more because everyone seems to want all of them.
They’re a good fit and I love that they’ve got the grippy things on the bottom – they’re perfect or little ones who aren’t totally steady on their feet yet. The “non skid” really means non-skid.

I’d give these 5 out of 5 stars, I wouldn’t change a thing.

This is a BUYER BEWARE / Seller review:
Used to be a great seller, I’ve bought full-price items from them, as well as done product reviews for discounts over the last couple years.
My last 2 transactions with them were miserable, I caught them in several lies and they are *still* taking sales on items they do not even have in stock, falsely listing them as “in stock” on Amazon.
They even go so far as to “pretend” they’ve shipped your item, and issue FAKE “tracking numbers” to satisfy Amazon’s system.
My experience:
I ordered a case for the new iPhone 7. They claimed it was shipped, after a little while and issued me a ‘tracking number’. The alleged ‘tracking number’ was not recognized by either of the carriers they claimed were involved. When I asked them for a *valid* tracking number, they changed their story, saying that the item was back ordered and they “hoped” I “can wait a few more days”. I did- I waited, and after a week, they asked me to wait longer. This went on a few times. Eventually they offered me a partial refund for the delay, but they never came through on said partial refund.
When I asked them if they had *lied* by claiming it was shipped, originally, and why they issued me a bogus ‘tracking number’, they ignored me. I tried again several times and they ignored me every time.
Finally I went back to, “hey, where is my item” and – they ignored me some more. But I received an automated response informing me that my order had been canceled and my money refunded.
It seemed like, they still didn’t have the item in stock.. EXCEPT – it was STILL listed on Amazon as ‘in stock’. Since Hubby *really* wanted *this* case, and since this was the first time, out of many transactions, we’d caught them being dishonest, we tried again – re-ordered the same case, since it stated it was in stock.
Well – the same thing happened.
When I would inquire they would say, “hold on, we have to check warehouse to see if is in stock” (yes broken English).
I would ask them, “What do you mean ‘check your warehouse, you have it listed as IN STOCK’. They ignored me. Clearly they’re great at ignoring their customers.
I’d inquire again, through amazon’s site so they have to answer me – and I’d get, ‘Please be patient, the item is not in stock.’ But as they wrote this and as I am writing this review right now, the item is LISTED and states IN STOCK.  (<— the item, listed as “in stock” at the time of this posting.)
Oh and they issued another bogus tracking number, and claimed that the item was shipped! Again! It’s one thing to make a mistake, maybe you print a label and forget to see the process through – but this seller is blatantly issuing bogus tracking numbers. I was in touch with both carriers they claimed were involved and verified this.
After I inquired as to whether they were ever going to send me the case they sold to me, and they ignored me a few more times, eventually I got another automated email response informing me of my refund.
It would appear that they KNOWINGLY have at least this one product listed on amazon, despite the fact that it’s not in stock. They are KNOWINGLY taking orders for it… then to buy themselves time, they are LYING about shipping status, and even going to far as to issue bogus ‘tracking numbers’.
